The story

The potter`s wheel spins, its gentle rhythm working to turn raw clay into its final form; material taken from the earth and shaped by human hands. Marilyn Barbe, the village potter fell in love with wheel thrown pottery in 1978 and enjoyed teaching that joy to others, beginning in1996, when the studio was built. Though no longer teaching, Marilyn still thoroughly enjoys the charm and challenge that clay has to offer. This quilt block was designed with the help of quilters from Denmark and New Zealand during the Ailsa Craig Quilt Festival in 2019.
