The story
Fort Norfolk was a minor fortification built at Turkey Point. Following the retreat of British Major-General Procter from Amherstburg in 1813 the British decided to construct a fort on Turkey Point Hill to defend the southwestern end of Upper Canada. Due to the unsuitability of the location the fort was abandoned after only a blockhouse and part of a palisade had been built.
