Bird’s Nest
The story
One of the area’s earliest settlers, Lucas Dedrick, came to Long Point in 1793 and was granted a 200 acre parcel that included the current site of Bird Studies Canada’s headquarters.
The Nature Conservancy of Canada, the Natural Heritage League and the Norfolk Field Naturalists (through a bequest from Catherine Smale) and Bird Studies Canada purchased the property in 1995 from the Starling family.
