The story
The farm was purchased in 1958 by David`s parents, Harry and Elizabeth Kennes, who immigrated from The Netherlands. The farm was operated as dairy until 1996. In 1996, a new barn was built to house broiler chickens. In 2013 a Dupont Pioneer seed dealership was added.
“Night and Day” was chosen as their barn quilt block pattern. Production never stops on any livestock operation and the theme of “Night and Day” seemed appropriate. One can see the windmill in the design to reflect the family’s Dutch heritage. Suitably chosen!!
