A Canadian Maple Tree
The story
I have fallen in love with the idea of the “Barn Quilt”, so since my son, and his wife, along with their twin daughters own a farm, with a barn, in Huron County – I had to make them a barn quilt! And I got creative! They purchased the farm in November 2007 from John and Mary Stoll and then started their family farm life – raising beef (cow/calf), cash cropping and both with jobs off the farm. In Aug of 2011 two beautiful blue eyed girls were born, Brooklynn and Grace. Now the girls will be 6 this August and love doing crafts, so of course they have helped me (known as Nanners) in the painting of this quilt. I call it “A Canadian Maple Tree”. In the background you can see Lake Huron. The top of the tree trunk is the shape of Canada and with each red leaf depicting a chapital or largest city of a province or territory, and of course, one for Ottawa. The total of the red leaves on the tree and those laying on the ground is 150. We have had alot of fun making this – Thanks, Patti Elliott
