The story

This quilt, designed by Dee Vaz, is mounted on the Nesbit shed at the Uxbridge Historical centre and was moved there in 1981. The shed was originally on the Nesbitt farm and was used in the filming of “Road to Avonlea” based on a popular book series “Anne of Green Gables” written by Lucy Maud Montgomery while she lived in Leaskdale. The Crazy Quilt pattern was popular in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s and was inspired by a crazy quilt the Lucy maud made herself.
