The Fallen

The story

The community of Burford is over 219 years old, and was a prominent British outpost by the time of the War of 1812. The pioneer cemetery land was donated by Loyalist settler John Fowler in 1799. The first burial took place in 1800. It’s the final resting place for many prominent local figures. Commemorative plaques in the cemetery share more of the community’s rich history.
