The story

Situated at the main crossroads, the Mount Pleasant Pioneer Cemetery is designated by the County of Brant under the Ontario Heritage Act. Granted as a burying ground upon the death of village co-founder Thomas Sturgis in 1802, the cemetery contains settlers and residents from all walks of life including several veterans of the War of 1812, businessmen, landowners, local legends, pioneer women, and children.
