McAlister Thistle
The story
The McAlister family’s connection to Mount Pleasant goes back 200 years. Born in Ireland to Scottish parents, Samuel McAlister first came to Upper Canada from America around 1800, settling at Long Point in Norfolk County. Originally property of the Sturgis family, this home was acquired by the McAlisters in 1918 and has been a prosperous dairy and crop farming operation for several generations.
